Classroom-tested repertoire not theory on a page.
Alan Simmons has worked as a music adviser, director and chorus master across primary and secondary settings since the 1980s. Every arrangement in this catalogue has been shaped by what singers and teachers actually need — not what looks elegant on the page.
Music leaders in schools face a distinctive challenge: deliver a credible, engaging singing programme with limited curriculum time, mixed-ability groups, and — often — little specialist support. The Alan Simmons catalogue was built around that reality.
Parts are kept within practical vocal ranges for young singers. Difficulty is rated on a five-point scale that describes how much independence each line demands in rehearsal — not an abstract exam-board grade. Hundreds of titles are available as instant digital downloads, ready to print and use the same day you buy them.
Schools across the UK, Ireland, Australia and North America use this music in assemblies, topic work, concerts and peripatetic teaching — from unison singing with Reception-age children through to confident four-part harmony in senior ensembles.

Song library, levels & bulk orders — explained.
Song library in the classroom
Many schools use our song-library approach: downloadable titles you can rehearse flexibly, aligned to how junior and prep departments actually timetable music.
If you are new to this model, read how song library works — it explains annual licences, per-title downloads, how teachers access files after purchase, and how photocopying fits with your local scheme.
Photocopying & performance
Copyright still applies to digital copies. Your purchase grants the permissions stated at checkout and in product notes — not a blanket right to duplicate unlimited copies. Where you need extra scores for a concert or workshop, check the guidance on each title or contact us for clarification before you print.
Difficulty you can plan around
Our five levels describe how much independence each vocal line needs in rehearsal — not an exam-board grade. Level 1 suits first rehearsals or younger groups; Level 5 assumes sectional work and confident ensemble skills.
Use the scale to sequence a term: start with unison and simple harmony, then build toward confident part-singing. Read the full level definitions — useful when briefing colleagues or senior leadership.
Digital access & accounts
After purchase, eligible downloads appear in the customer Account area on this site. If a colleague loses a link or you need a resend for an institutional order, email us with your order reference.
